Why Paint Correction?

Swirls are the Enemy. You might have seen our hashtag but it's more like a motto – swirls, scratches, marring, defects and deterioration are all the enemies of beautiful paintwork and a fresh-looking vehicle. This is why paint correction forms the foundation of all of our packages at Distinct Detail.

WHAT IS PAINT CORRECTION? 


Using a machine buffer and specialist compounds and polishes, we abrade (remove) small amounts of clear-coat to remove swirls, etchings, light scratches and minimise the appearance of deeper marks. This levelling of the paintwork leads to higher gloss by removing defects which bounce light away and lead to a dull, tired finish.


As we practice responsible paint correction detailing, we only remove enough clear-coat to remove defects - using a paint thickness guage allows us to monitor removal and ensure greater safety.

We also don't believe in offering TRUE paint correction without thoroughly protecting surfaces afterwards, which is why ALL of the packages below include ceramic composite coating protection.

ENHANCE & PROTECT DETAIL

Our Minor Correct & Protect package is our entry-level service. Best suited to newer cars with minimal signs of use and/or well maintained vehicles. 

PLEASE NOTE: If vehicle presents with more defects than the package is capable of removing, one can realistically expect the removal rate below.

DURATION: 3 Days

  • FULL VEHICLE DECONTAMINATION (Chemical & mechanical fallout removal, engine deep clean)
  • COMPLETE SURFACE INSPECTION & PAINT THICKNESS READINGS
  • TWO-STAGE MACHINE PAINT CORRECTION (80-90% DEFECT REMOVAL RATE)
  • CERAMIC COATINGS – 18-24 months/15-30K KM (PAINTWORK, TRIM, PLASTICS)
  • WHEELS-OFF CERAMIC COATING PACKAGE (Deep clean and coating of wheels, hubs, calipers and arches)
  • INTERIOR VACUUMED AND SURFACES WIPED DOWN 
  • TYRES DRESSED



CORRECT & PROTECT DETAIL

Major correction package designed for vehicles that have accumulated moderate-heavy swirl marks, scratches, streaks, etchings and haze.

This package is also best suited for darker colour vehicles or sensitive paint systems.

  • COMPLETE SURFACE INSPECTION & PAINT THICKNESS READINGS
  • MULTI-STAGE MACHINE PAINT CORRECTION (3 OR MORE STAGES: 90-95% DEFECT REMOVAL RATE)
  • CERAMIC COATINGS – 18 months/15-20K KM (PAINTWORK, TRIM, PLASTICS)
  • WHEELS-OFF CERAMIC COATING PACKAGE (Deep clean and coating of wheels, hubs, calipers and arches)
  • INTERIOR VACUUMED AND SURFACES WIPED DOWN
  • TYRES DRESSED
